How a real school using this platform would handle education records under FERPA.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) governs how schools and their vendors handle education records. This public-facing website does not store, display, or process education records.
Where education records live
A school operating this site handles education records (grades, transcripts, attendance, advisor notes, disciplinary records, etc.) inside dedicated third-party systems selected by the school — for example:
- Student Information System: Blackbaud K-12, Veracross, Finalsite, or similar
- Transcripts: Parchment
- Admissions/enrollment: Ravenna, Finalsite Admissions, Blackbaud Enrollment
- Tuition billing: FACTS, TADS, Nelnet
- Financial aid: SSS by NAIS, FAST, Clarity
Each of those vendors executes its own data-processing agreement with the school under FERPA's school official exception.
Bright Presence Digital's role
Bright Presence Digital (the platform vendor that builds and hosts this website) does not access, process, or retain education records. Our role is limited to website infrastructure, design, and maintenance.
How to request records
Parents and eligible students may inspect and request correction of education records directly through the school registrar. Email registrar@bpdschool.demo.
